About Us
We care about the nourishment of our family, just like you do, that's why we created Freshies Bakery. We want to provide wholesome and healthy breads--freshly milled organic grains being the core of all our products. Our grains are sourced from local Michigan farmers and farms from around the USA, milled by local millers or in-house, to provide the highest quality of nutrients and flavor.
Having roots in agriculture and growing some of our own grains has led us to value partnerships with local farmers. We are big proponents of utilizing regenerative agriculture to grow the most nutrient dense foods while ensuring a thriving ecosystem for our posterity.
The Slotman Family Farm has its roots in the Netherlands. When the Slotmans of the mid 1800s sought a more abundant life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, they chose the area of Holland, Michigan to settle. Since 1895, we’ve been farming in America and trying to make our corner of the world a better place.

We fell in love with the DeWitt, MI area and have been a part of this terrific community since 2018.
